Tapas Saha, PhD

Cell and Molecular Biologist

Dr. Saha is a Research Instructor at the Lombardi Comprehensive Cancer Center, where he has been on the faculty since 2006.  He has a PhD in Biosciences from the Jamia Millia Islamia and Jawaharlal Nehru University in India.  His research interests span areas in gastrointestinal/breast cancer, TGF-b, DNA replication, cell cycle, apoptosis, oxidative stress and DNA repair.  In his present position, his work involves research about the role of BRCA1 as a human prostate tumor suppressor gene (Eliot Rosen, PI) and induction of antioxidant gene expression and resistance to oxidative stress by BRCA1, the breast cancer susceptibility gene and tumor suppressor.
