Celia Byrne, PhDDr. Byrne is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Oncology at Georgetown. She is also Associate Director of the Clinical and Molecular Epidemiology Shared Resource at the Lombardi Cancer Center and an instructor in the Department of Biostatistics Master's Program. In addition, she is a member of the Cancer Genetics and Epidemiology Program and the Center of Excellence in Breast Cancer, both at the Lombardi Comprehensive Cancer Center. Dr. Byrne received her graduate training in Epidemiology at the University of California, Los Angeles. She has conducted a number of studies to investigate the association between mammographic breast density and breast cancer risk. Her research interests include the understanding of intermediate markers of cancer risk and the use of biomarkers to assess risk of disease.
