Willard A. Barnes, Jr., MD

Gynecologic Oncologist

Dr. Barnes is Professor and Chief, Division of Gynecologic Oncology, in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Georgetown University Medical Center and the Lombardi Comprehensive Cancer Center. He graduated from the University of Mississippi Medical Center Medical School in 1979, where he also completed his internship and residency. Dr. Barnes joined the medical staff at Georgetown as a fellow in 1983 and became an attending physician in 1985. Dr. Barnes is involved with clinical research activities associated with the Gynecology Oncology Group.  His interests include innovative treatment protocols for ovarian and gynecologic cancers, management of pre-malignant and invasive tumors of the cervix and uterus, and surgical management of pelvic tumors.  In addition, he is the co-chair for the Georgetown Internal Review Board for clinical research. Dr. Barnes continues to publish and his work can be found in peer reviewed journals.
