In 2014 the Fisher Center sponsored the 7th annual summer cancer genetic counseling fellowship. The fellowship is a 10 week paid training program at the Georgetown Lombardi Comprehensive Cancer Center in Washington, DC. Innovative, hands on trans-disciplinary training is provided in clinical cancer genetics and genomics, medical oncology and surgery, behavioral research, and bioethics. The fellowship is tailored to the interests and unique needs of the trainee and is open to one candidate a year.
Thus far, our fellows have included five newly graduated genetic counselors and two students who joined us in the summer between their first and second years of training. To read about previous fellowship experiences, click here.
The fellowship will be offered again in the summer of 2015 (June 1- August 7). The application packet is available here. Applications are due Janunary 20, 2015.
