Genetic Counseling Summer Fellowship
In 2012, the Fisher Center sponsored the 5th annual summer genetic counseling fellowship. This is a 10 week paid fellowship at the Georgetown Lombardi Comprehensive Cancer Center in Washington, DC. Innovative, hands on trans-disciplinary training is provided in clinical cancer genetics, medical oncology and surgery, behavioral research, and bioethics. The fellowship is designed to be responsive to the interests and unique needs of the trainee.
Thus far, three awards have been made to newly graduated genetic counselors and two students who joined us in the summer between their first and second years. To read about previous fellowship experiences, click here.
The fellowship will be offered in again in the summer of 2013 (June 3 - August 9). The application is available here and is due on January 18, 2013.
