An important component of the mission and vision of the Fisher Center is to serve as a resource to sponsor and conduct educational activities. We are committed to providing educational initiatives for health care providers, basic science and clinical researchers, genetic counselors and graduate students, and the lay public.
On October 2, 2008, we welcomed Dr. Steven Narod as our inaugural Visiting Professor. Dr. Narod is a world renowned researcher and clinician in the area of hereditary breast cancer, and a long standing collaborator with Georgetown faculty. His talk was entitled, "What's New in Hereditary Breast Cancer?"
